Hanson Performed ‘MMMBop’ To Celebrate Their 25th Anniversary And YEP! Still A Banger

Much like chick flicks and a tenderly placed finger in our buttholes, Hanson was a band that we all publicly despised but secretly loved behind closed closet doors. MMMBop is the modern day’s Gotye, Somebody That I Used To Know, in that you’d turn it up if you were in the car alone but you’d aggressively demand someone change it if you had company, followed by the urgent request to “PUT ON THE NEW KENDRICK LAMAR!” Dude, you’re a rich white kid who drives a Suburu, Kendrick doesn’t speak to you you pathetic poser.

In any event, it’s the 25th anniversary of Hanson’s smash hit MMMBop (yes, we have both aged), and the trio has reunited as a band to embark on a 25th anniversary tour. Isaac, Zach and Taylor stopped in the Good Morning America studios to perform the only song any of us know, and they still sound like a group of angels having collective orgasms. Simply angelic.

Raise your hand if you’re sick of playing MMMBop!

Guys, stop. Don’t. Keep going though. OK now stop. Please.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
