Jay-Z Fired Off a Blistering Diss Track ‘Open Letter’ Today

Jay-Z, on the other hand? Who, this week, went through a congressional inquiry into his possibly (but not really) illegal trip to Cuba, and confirmation that he only owned less than one percent of the Nets? Hova doesn't need to go through the normal motions. He just releases a Swizz Beatz-produced diss track. These are the perks when you split your time between being a business… man, and, arguably, the best rapper alive.

The song is called “Open Letter,” and it packs a lot into its two minutes and forty-one seconds. Here's Jay-Z's press conference and PR release, respectively:

“Politicians never did shit for me/ Except lie to me, distort history/ They wanna give me jail time and a fine– Fine, let me commit a real crime/ Obama said, 'Chill, you're going to get me impeached'/ You don't need this shit anyway, chill with me on the beach,”

“I woulda moved the Nets to Brooklyn for free/ Except I made millions off you fucking dweebs/ I still own the building, I'm keeping my seats/ You buy that bullshit, you better keep your receipts.”

It's not “Takeover.” He unfortunately doesn't end it all with “Any other congressmen taking shots at Jigga? You only get half a bar…” But as finely tuned (and quickly recorded) diss songs go, it's proof that even now, you don't wanna have any problems with Hov.
