Dude Shredded Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Simple Man’ So Hard The Band Approved And Shared It With Their Fans

As an amateur musician specializing in covers you know that you’ve officially made it when the band that you’re covering shares your rendition on their official Facebook page, right? Because that’s exactly what happened to this dude who looks like he could be the arms dealer for a biker gang in some AMC drama, but instead has the goddamn voice of an angel, when Lynyrd Skynyrd shared his rendition of ‘Simple Man’ with all of their fans on social media. And I don’t mean to slight Marty Ray’s ‘Marty Ray Project’ here, he’s got a respectable following in his own right (62k subscribers on YouTube), but he’s still just a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan like the rest of us when it’s all said and done.

He’s living proof that you should never judge a book by its cover, because if you saw him on the street you might think it was some crappy ZZ Top cosplay when in reality he’s packing one of the purest voices I’ve ever heard. It’s also pretty dope that Lynyrd Skynyrd used their Facebook Page to pump up their fans. In fact, now that I’m scrolling through their Facebook page I’m realizing that it’d been way too long since I last checked in on their social media presence, because they also recently shared Slayer covering ‘Freebird’ and it’s fanFUCKINGtastic:
