This Soulful Version of Smash Mouth’s ‘All Star’ Will Actually Make You Enjoy The Song Now

Maybe I’m showing my age here, but, fuck it, this cover of Smash Mouth’s popular song “All-Star” that came out when I was in seventh grade is the best thing I’ve heard all day.

While I remember this thing being overplayed and run into the ground HARDCORE back in ’97, this version my some musician named Seth Boyer has me thinking it could have some serious staying power—considering I’ve run it back a good four times since I came across it.

Let’s just assign talented musicians like Seth a ’90s artist and say, “OK, your’e going to cover these 10 songs and release them on YouTube. Cool? Go!” Yeah, I’d like that.
