Apple Sold More New iPhones Last Weekend Than The Populations Of Kentucky, Colorado, And Kansas COMBINED

The new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus went on sale last week(end) and Apple straight up demolished their previous sales records. There were so many Apple fans buying new iPhones last weekend that the amount of new iPhones sold actually equals roughly 4% of the total U.S. Population (iPhones to citizens), and there were more iPhones sold than the cumulative populations of like 9 U.S. states.

Over 13 MILLION people bought new iPhones last weekend. That’s an absolutely astronomical figure considering how expensive new iPhones are. If this was like ‘Nestle sells new candy bar’ and they sold 13 million of them I wouldn’t be shocked at all. But to move 13 million new iPhone 6S and 6S Pluses that each cost several hundred dollars is just a sales volume my mind cannot even begin to comprehend.

Usually I walk past the Apple Store in SoHo (NYC) every day, but I happened to be out of town this weekend and missed all of the new iPhone insanity. I gotta say that going forward I might plan to be out of town every time a new iPhone goes on sale. The lines here in SoHo are straight up crazy, with the same people camping out 24/7 for almost a week to buy as many new iPhones as they’re allowed.

Apple released a statement on Business Wire regarding their record breaking sales, which were due in part to the inclusion of China:

CUPERTINO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Apple® today announced it has sold more than 13 million new iPhone® 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models, a new record, just three days after launch. iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in more than 40 additional countries beginning October 9 including Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Taiwan. The new iPhones will be available in over 130 countries by the end of the year.

“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9.”

So now that we know over 13 MILLION new iPhones 6S (and Pluses) were sold last weekend I’m curious if any of you bros (at all) bought them? I feel like any time I post something on this side that’s about Apple the vast majority of our readers take steamy dumps all over the products. But at the same time I know that A TON of our readers use Apple products. So I’m wondering if anyone got down on these long ass lines this weekend, or if you found a way to beat the lines?
