If you are a fan of the Assassin’s Creed video game franchise 2016 was the first time in a decade we didn’t have a new game to play. Oh sure, we had a movie starring Magneto from the X-Men films, but somehow it wasn’t quite the same.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer for the 10th installment in the series as Assassin’s Creed Originsi s scheduled to be released on October 27th.

According to Wikipedia, the premise for the game goes like this…

The game is set in Ancient Egypt during the Ptolemaic period and recounts the fictional history of real-world events. The story recounts the origins of the conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins, who fight for peace by promoting liberty, and a secret cabal—forerunners to the Templar Order—who desire peace through the forceful imposition of order. The player takes on the role of a Medjay named Bayek as he works to protect the people during a time of widespread upheaval: Ptolemy XV Caesarion struggles to maintain his rule whilst harbouring ambitions of expanding his kingdom; his mother, the recently-deposed Cleopatra, begins marshalling loyalist forces to launch a counter-coup against Ptolemy; and frequent incursions into the Kingdom by the Roman Empire under the command of Julius Caesar lead to fears of an imminent invasion. Bayek’s role as a Medjay brings him into contact with the forces manipulating events and sees him become the first Assassin.

And from the looks of the game’s latest reveal called the “From Sand Cinematic Trailer” the year off may have done Ubisoft some good. That’s because this new footage of Assassin’s Creed Origins makes the game look so beautiful it’s almost a shame to have to muck it up by actually playing it. I just want to watch. (Which is more than I can say for the movie.)

If that wasn’t enough to pique your interest, this 18 minute video of what gameplay will look like most certainly will…

Here are a few more goodies that will hopefully help tide you over until the 27th…
