Probably the worst thing about football tailgates in the Fall is the first few months of school where it’s still 80 degrees outside and beers get warm in 10 seconds flat. If you go to school in Michigan this clearly isn’t a problem, but for those of us who don’t like living and breathing snow year-round, it sucks. Being hammered in a yard is great, but being hammered in a yard and drinking warm Natty Lite takes most of the fun out of it.
But fear not, because we now have the answer to our problems; the beer slushie machine . Now technically it doesn’t produce slushies a-la 7-Eleven, but it does make a whipped frozen beer topping to add to the top of your beer.
” Kirin’s slushy maker freezes beer into foam that is used to top off a glass of beer. Essentially, you’re using frozen beer to keep beer cold. It’s kind of brilliant because when frozen slush melts, it’ll just add more beer to your glass. The whipped, frozen topping, which acts like a cap, is said to maintain a drink’s temperature for up to 30 minutes after it was poured.”

If I don’t see at least one of these at every tailgate I’m at this Fall there’s going to be a problem, and that problem is going to be blacked-out Becca screaming unintelligibly about beer slushies to no one in particular. It won’t be a pretty sight.
