Odd confession time — I actually like the smell of cigarette smoke. Not like when it’s baked into people’s clothes or furniture but that first light of a cigarette and first couple billows. It’s an odd thing to like for someone who’s never been a smoker.
All of my friends smoked. Lighting up a cigarette smells like being in the inside of my best friend’s 1987 Mustang, driving to who the fuck knows. The smell of smoke takes me back.
Now, I’m not going to take up smoking, and I’m certainly not going to let a smoker move into my house. Instead, I’ll fill the air with fake smoke and faker whiskey.
