Hard to believe, but Sophie Turner began working on Game of Thrones way back when she was just 13-years-old. Eight years later Turner is now 21, engaged to Joe Jonas, and facing the end of the road for her time as Sansa Stark.

In a new interview with Marie Claire, Turner talked a little bit about her place on the legendary HBO show and what the future holds for her once it’s over.

Turner says that when she auditioned for the role of Sansa Stark she didn’t even know what HBO was, but she did know that the role she was auditioning for wasn’t your average teenage role, “That’s what I craved. I didn’t want some happy-go-lucky, bubblegum thing. I wanted real acting.”

As for how she feels about the show coming to an end, it’s a tad bittersweet, “It’s like the carpet is being taken away underneath you. It’s also exciting because there’s such freedom.”

Not that she won’t still be busy. She’s got the X-Men movie about her character Jean Grey, a drama called Huntsville (where she’ll be covered in temporary tattoos), and a romantic comedy called Time Freak all coming out in the near future.

She also doesn’t believe that Game of Thrones coming to an end will mean an end to all those relationships, “It’s still Game of Thrones town in London. We meet up whenever we can. We all party together. We go to festivals together. We’ll probably all be 80 and still going to Glastonbury.”

Yep, it’s good to be 21, but it’s even better to be Sophie Turner and be 21.
