8-year-old cancer survivor, Lacey Holsworth, helps Michigan State cut down the nets

If you follow college basketball, you’ve undoubtedly heard the story of Lacey Holsworth, an 8-year-old cancer survivor adopted by the Michigan State basketball team. Yesterday, following Michigan State’s Big Ten Tourney Championship, Lacey joined her best buddy Adreian Payne in cutting down the nets.

It was a spectacular moment, both for Lacey and for her family and friends, who have worked tirelessly to kick cancer’s butt these last few years.

The community has rallied behind Lacey Holsworth, who continues her battle with neuroblastoma. Last week a fundraiser was held her in her honor at Buffalo Wild Wings in East Lansing. Through the sale of bracelets and t-shirts, $20,000 was raised for Lacey’s medical costs.
