Burger King brings back 2nd creepiest mascot ever

YouTube

Depending on when you started wasting most of your life on the internet, you might have heard of a little gimmick from Burger King called The Subservient Chicken. Well, he’s back…yay.

The original Subservient Chicken website was created by Burger King 10 years ago. That predates YouTube and makes me feel incredibly old. Back then you could tell the chicken what to do and it would appear as though he was, well, being subservient. In reality, the guy in an oversized chicken mascot costume had pre-recorded hundreds of different actions so it looked like he was responding. Any yes, he could breakdance.

BK is bringing the mascot back to promote their new Chicken Big King… which is basically a Big Mac with chicken instead of beef. As of now, the website is just the gif below, some comically bad photoshops, and a ploy to get you to share the site.

The main video, titled “Rise and Fall,” goes live at 9am Wednesday and supposedly features an appearance by Screech of Saved by the Bell and sex tape fame. The chicken is allegedly turning the tables on his former oppressors, so I expect him to walk around the streets making people do stupid shit for his own entertainment. Sounds a lot like a Jimmy Kimmel bit to me. Where’s Peter Griffin to defend humanity against comically large chickens when you need him?
