Much like a mythical creator, occasionally Coolio will show up at a group of college kids’ house, cook for them, and perform an acoustic version of “Gangsta’s Paradise”. You probably have to just say his name five times in a mirror or something.
According to the Redditor who posted the video, it’s not as weird as it seems:
“He was playing a gig in our city, and a few of my housemates were in the VIP after party. He came back to our house afterwards, and told us that he wasn’t busy that night so would come over and cook us dinner. We had Coolio’s Caprese Salad, Chicken á la Daaaamn, and Peach Crumble. We also videoed a cooking show (“Cookin’ with Coolio”). It was just as weird as it sounds.
“Great guy though, had some very deep and profound thoughts on life and his time in the business.”
Nothing surprising here other than the fact that Coolio got a little lazy when it came to branding his Peach Crumble. When I think of mid 90s rappers with great perspective and profound thoughts, I definitely think Coolio. Or Too $hort. Perhaps The Lox. Yeah. Definitely The Lox.
