And this one is a serious tease. One of my most-anticipated movies of the year is Only God Forgives, which reunites Drive collaborators Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling for another tale of violence and revenge, this time set in Thailand. Their last film was a stylish, brutal masterpiece and this one looks even better. Gosling plays a dude who runs a Thai boxing club as a front business for his family’s heroin smuggling business. Things go very bad for him when his brother is murdered and his crazy-ass mother comes to town to force him to find his killer. Only God Forgives is expected to premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and has a rumored release date of May 23rd.
