Giant Wrigley Field cake looks amazing, tastes like defeat

Buddy Valastro

Wrigley Field is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and part of the extravaganza is a 25 square-foot cake made to look like the fields of failure.

It’s a good thing TV’s Cake Boss is better at baking than the Cubs are at baseball, because this gigantic cake looks amazing. Sure I blame the field for the Cubs inability to win, but that doesn’t make it’s any less iconic. It took Buddy Valastro and a team of four bakers at Carlo’s Bakery over six days to create. It weighs 400 pounds and spent a solid 12 hours being transported all the way to Chicago from New Jersey. There’s no word on whether or not the bathrooms contain troughs.
