Tom Clancy is making more money in his coffin than we make at our office. How fair is that? Jack Ryan is one of those characters that movie studios seem to be desperate to turn into a franchise player, but it never really works out. He’s been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and now Chris Pine in the upcoming Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. I dunno, maybe it’s the name? He sounds like he could be Paul Ryan’s douchey younger brother. The new movie looks pretty solid though, as Ryan goes up against an international terrorist who wants to collapse the United States economy. Dude, we’re already doing that. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit opens on Christmas.
