If you spent most of your years growing up in the 90's, then you're well aware of all the greatness that the decade owned. Let's go back to a simpler time, where N64s roamed the land, grunge rock ruled the charts and we were just youngins with a dial-up modem and a twinkle in our eye.
Nerf guns, light up sneakers, Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Koosh Balls, pogs, and saying, "I've fallen and I can't get up," were all pretty damn amazing. The macarena and AOL chat rooms on the other hand...
I don't know about you, but as a portly young child I enjoyed myself some delicious processed snacks. It was a plethora of Lunchables, Handi-Snacks, Capri Suns, Combos, Dunkaroos, Hi-C, Butterfinger BB's, Gushers, and Zebra Cakes that kept me fueled and ready to make it through the day.
Super Metroid, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Bros. 3, Sonic the Hedgehog, Doom, Super Smash Bros., Donkey Kong Country, Castlevania, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye, Resident Evil, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Quake, Gran Turismo, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Tomb Raider, Star Fox 64, and so many more incredible titles, franchises and intellectual properties got their start, took off or came into their own in the 90’s.
Are you sick of playing the same old friendship-destroying game of Monopoly over and over again? In the 90’s we had a multitude of amazing games to choose from like Omega Virus, Hero Quest, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Guess Who?, Mouse Trap, Mr. Bucket, and Crossfire. YEAH! YEAH! The only place you’ll find those now is on e-Bay for a jacked up price.
Ah the early years of the Internet; when the web seemed like a magical place with bright, sparkly Geocities backgrounds, introspective Live Journals, interest-specific AOL channels and 3 megabyte movie trailers that took days to load. Receiving an email back in the day was an exciting thing, even if it was spam.
Seinfeld, ER, Saved by the Bell, Rugrats, Doug, Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, Double Dare, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Pete and Pete, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files, Friends, Hercules, Xena: Warrior Princess, Highlander, Star Trek, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Dinosaurs, The Critic, Home Improvement, Baywatch, Frasier and other fine television shows illustrated the merits of decade that was not at all devoid of creative genius.
