Feliciano Lopez was doing a lot of grunting during his match against Stan Wawrinka today. Not Sharapova-like grunting but it annoyed the hell out of Wawrinka, who had some choice words for him during the post-match handshake. There was no pushing or punches thrown but as far as fights at Wimbledon go, this was A+ stuff.
An f-bomb? At Wimbledon? The horror I tell ya! Anyway, Stan Wawrinka downplayed the incident in an interview with Pam Shriver. “It was nothing big.” Uh yeah, your body language says otherwise Stan.
Oh yeah, Wawrinka won the match. He’ll play Roger Federer in the quarterfinal. They’ll be a lot less grunting, presumably.
