Type-OHHHHH! Mistake sends health insurance applicants to sex hotline

People are getting screwed when it comes to health insurance. To add insult to injury, some people are listening to people screw while getting screwed out of health insurance. In an effort to get as many Californians signed up for health insurance before the deadline, Covered California accidentally listed a phone sex line on their website. Luckily, there is a bright spot to the mix-up. If anyone called the number, they probably didn’t hear any dirty talk.

On the Covered California page that has users calculate the cost of their coverage, two phone numbers are listed for users who qualify for Medi-Cal—one of which is for those who are hearing impaired. Unfortunately that number (1-888-899-4500) was one digit off from the correct one (1-888-889-4500).

Oh, well that’s good news. The bad news is those people are still deaf. Typo sends deaf Covered California callers to sex hotline [Death and Taxes]
