Here’s insane video of two side-by-side tornadoes in Nebraska

A number of tornadoes ripped through Northeast Nebraska on Monday killing one person and injuring dozens of others. At one point the tornadoes tag teamed side-by-side in a fascinating yet destructive weather phenomenon.

The severe weather specialist for The Weather Channel Dr. Greg Postel said he has never seen anything like this. One town was hit particularly hard.

The twister was on the ground for more than an hour, according to Postel. Pilger is located about 14 miles northeast of Stanton in eastern Nebraska. Storm chasers in the Pilger area described the damage as “catastrophic” in the minutes following the tornado.

Every building for five or six blocks suffered damage from the tornado, storm chaser Brian Davidson told Omaha.com. He also said one home had a car thrown inside by the twister, adding, “It’s very chaotic here right now.”

“More than half of the town is gone — absolutely gone,” Stanton County Commissioner Jerry Weatherholt said. “The co-op is gone, the grains bins are gone, and it looks like almost every house in town has some damage. It’s a complete mess.”

Storm chased Reed Timmer posted this photo on Instagram.

When the Weather Channel expert says he hasn’t seen anything like this, yeah, that’s kinda crazy. Keep those people in your thoughts.
