Waffle House employee calls 911 over fake robbery in worst April Fools’ prank ever

Frankly, I expect much smarter behavior from my Waffle House waitresses. Shame on you, Susan Tinker.

Hampton Police Department

Police say that Tinker, 20, called 911 to claim that the Waffle House she worked at was robbed.

Officers arrived after the 6 a.m. call at the Hamptons, Va. location of the chain expecting to find clues or a situation at hand.

Instead, the investigators say, “Responding officers investigated the incident and determined that the complaint was a fabrication in celebration of ‘April Fool’s Day’.”

Even the police were shocked by the incident. Hampton Police Division Cpl. Mary Shackelford told local NBC affiliate WAVY, “Sometimes we’ll get incidents where kids are playing around on the phone. But usually it’s nothing of this caliber.”

Tinker faces a maximum of 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine for the false report.

Fortunately, the waffles were not a target of the faux crime.
