6 obscure but delicious things to drink for the Super Bowl

Just because Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors will dominate ad space on Super Bowl Sunday doesn’t mean you have to drink it. Here are five obscure cocktails for the adventurous and one giant tin of beer for those who are lazy.

The crowd pleaser – Newcastle Brown Ale DraughtKeg

Newcastle

The upscale bowl of happiness – The Punter’s Punch
1 bottle of Brugal Extra Dry Rum
2 oz. Highland Park 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky
2 oz. Gran Classico Bitters
8 oz. Cocchi Americano
2 oz. Agave syrup
6 oz. Fresh squeezed orange juice
6 oz. Fresh squeezed lemon juice
6 to 8 slices of orange rind
6 to 8 slices of lemon rind

Pour all ingredients into large pitcher and add ice, chill for at least an hour, sweeten to taste, top off with champagne serve with an orange and lemon rind in chilled rocks glass with 1 large cube of ice. Serves 15 to 20 people.

The non-traditional – The Noble Beer Margarita

Baddish

2 OZ. Casa Noble Crystal
Lemonade
Your favorite 6.5 OZ bottle of beer
Ice

Place ice in glass. Add in tequila and fill with lemonade. Tip beer bottle inside the glass.

 

 

 

The stretch of a name – Touchdown Turkey

Catalyst

Wild Turkey
Cranberries
Rosemary
Serve Wild Turkey 101 on the rocks. Garnish with cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.

 

 

The even bigger name stretch – Hail Mary
2 oz Belvedere Lemon Tea
Top with Root Beer
Dash of Lemon Juice

Build over ice and garnish with a lime wedge.

 

 

 

The excuse to break out sloe gin – Red Zone Rum Rush

1 ounce Shellback Spiced Rum
3/4 ounce Sloe Gin
1/2 ounce Falernum
2 ounces Brut Champagne
Lemon Twist Garnish

Directions:
Combine liquids except champagne in cocktail shaker with ice. Stir or shake according to preference. Strain into chilled flute. Top with brut champagne. Garnish with lemon twist.
