All of the science in the world on this subject points to one conclusion: smoking cigarettes is bad for your health. There’s not a single study out there that claims smoking cigarettes will lead to a long, fruitful life…yet here we are, discussing the case of a 112-year-old woman in Nepal who smokes 30 cigarettes a day. Sure, you can show me thousands of cases of people dying at a prematurely young age due to tobacco inhalation, but can you show me a case where someone died before the age of 112 when they smoked cigarettes in the same unorthodox manner is Batuli Lamichhane (that’s her name)?
For 95 YEARS Batuli Lamichhane has been smoking cigarettes, and at the age of 112 she’s puffing down 30 cigarettes a day. But she doesn’t just pop a cig into her mouth and light up like the rest of the world, she’s got a weird ass style of smoking where she holds the cigarette within her right fist and pulls the smoke through her hand. A Nepalese woman has defied science by living to the ripe old age of 112 — despite her 30-cigarette-a-day habit.
Batuli Lamichhane says she’s been puffing butts for the past 95 years, and she has an unusual technique to get her nicotine fix.
Instead of holding a cigarette with her index and middle finger, Lamichhane uses her entire right fist, which she then holds to her mouth to inhale.
“I don’t really care how old I am,” she said. “But I am old nonetheless. I have seen a lot of things change during my lifetime.”
She’ll turn 113 in March.
Conclusion: the rest of the world smokes by putting the cigarette directly to their lips and they die prematurely from complications caused by smoking. This 112-year-old woman from Nepal smokes 30 cigarettes a day but the cigs never touch her lips…and she’s showing no signs of poor health. So if you’re a smoker maybe consider smoking like this old woman, unless of course you’re worried about looking foolish for something in such an unorthodox manner. If that’s the case you should remember that you look like a goddamn idiot while smoking cigarettes in any manner, so you shouldn’t let it bother you….and before you jump down my throat for hating on smoking, I smoked for 10 years straight and haven’t had one in over 8 years.
