How This Stupendous Act Of Kindness By A Bar Manager Changed A Homeless Man’s Life

This is a tremendous story of how one minuscule act of kindness may have had an awesome butterfly effect in the life of a desperate homeless man.

Louie Cooper manages Five Bar & Kitchen in the United Kingdom. One day, in walks a straggly man named “Omar” who asked Louie for a job. He told the bar manager how everything had “fallen apart” after he was attacked and his courier business had “gone bust,” which then caused him to be homeless. Louie certainly wanted to give him a job, but had no open positions. However, that did not stop him from helping him out in another fantastic way.

“He was really desperate for anything even though we didn’t have any shifts going,” Louie told the Mirror. “I felt a bit sorry for him.”

Instead of just saying “sorry,” and leaving it at that, Louie had a far better idea.

“I told him he’d find it difficult to find a job if he wasn’t dressed smart, so I took him to a charity shop.”

Louie took Omar to the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice shop and told him, “get anything you want.” Not only did Louie buy Omar a suit, but he also paid the homeless man’s back rent to his former landlord. The next day, Omar returned to Five Bar and waited several hours for Louie. That’s when Omar thanked Louie for all of his generosity and revealed that he had found a job at a nearby takeout restaurant and had secured an interview from a bar in town.

“It was all because he had gone in dressed in a suit,” Louie added. “I was totally shocked but so glad I could help. I only spent about £50 but it’s the best money I’ve ever spent.”

Forget Xbox Ones, Fitbits and Hoverboards, this was the best Christmas gift for 2015.
