Anonymous Launches Massive Cyberattack Against Major Country For Allegedly Aiding ISIS

Two weeks after declaring war on Donald Trump for his proposed ban on Muslims, hacktivist group Anonymous has declared war on an entire country. Anonymous has claimed the responsibility for a massive 40Gbps DDoS attack on Turkish DNS Servers. The hacktivist organization is justifying the attacks because they believe that Turkey is supporting and aiding ISIS.

Anonymous uploaded a video and began a new campaign titled #OpTurkey.

Greetings citizens of the world,

We are Anonymous .

As many of you have heard, Turkey is supporting Daesh by buying oil from them, and hospitalizing their fighters. We won’t accept that Erdogan, the leader of Turkey, will help ISIS any longer. The news media has already stated that

Turkey’s Internet has been the victim of massive DDOS attacks.

This lead Turkey to shut down it’s internet borders and deny anybody outside the country to access Turkish websites.

Dear government of Turkey,

If you don’t stop supporting ISIS, we will continue attacking your internet , your ROOT DNS , your banks and take your government sites down.

After the root dns we will start to hit your airports, military assets and private state connections. We will destroy your critical banking infrastructure.

Stop this insanity now Turkey.

Your fate is in your own hands.

We Are Anonymous .

We Are Legion

We Do Not Forgive

We do not forget.

Expect us.

The group alleges that they have brought down thousands of Turkish websites last week. Five primary “.tr” websites were shut down, by Turkey, not long thereafter the attack. This preventative measure by the Turkish government brought down at least 40,000 other websites. Most of the sites have come back online since the hack.

They have threatened to take down “root servers” which are the foundation of Turkey’s entire digital infrastructure as well as vital systems which power the country’s airports, banks and government facilities.

Vladimir Putin accused Turkey of buying oil from Daesh in November.
