Army Captain Wearing ‘Captain America’ Tee Saves Couples Lives By Pulling Them Out Of A Fiery Car Crash

A Chatham County, North Carolina Army Captain repping a Captain America t-shirt saved the lives of two strangers from a fiery head on crash Sunday by using a fire extinguisher to smash the windows of the engulfed car and dragging its two passengers to safety.

The accident occurred when one of the drivers crossed the center line and hit a car head on driving in the opposite direction. A group of people stopped to assist, but it was clear one person was spearheading the initiative: Fort Bragg Army Captain Steve Voglezon.

According to ABC News, Voglezon recalls,

“I grabbed one of the fire extinguishers and we smashed out on the back window and the driver’s side window. ….There wasn’t a real plan, I just had tunnel vision.”

Voglezon credited his Army training for staying calm in the chaotic situation.

And the better man than me downplayed his role in saving the lives of  couple whose time was running out.

“I was just at the right place at the right time. People do this every day at the fire department. I wasn’t alone out there, there were at least 10 of us in the community working together.”

Here’s the intense footage of the scene. For the record, I’d be the dude in the woods hiding behind a tree filming it. But the footage wouldn’t be nearly as good because my hand would be shaking like a leaf. I’m a beta male.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
