Bartolo Colon GIFs Will Never Stop Being Funny

When I was a kid, I went to an Orioles-Indians game and saw a 25-year-old Bartolo Colon pitch. He was a freak. The radar consistently hit 96-97, and more than once it topped 100. Even for someone used to hitting three figures on Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball, this was mind-blowing stuff to watch. The sky was the limit for Colon’s career.

Today, Colon weighs a svelte 283 pounds (down from over 3-bills during the off-season). He’s still capable of decent performances, but he’s clearly on the tail end of his career.

Still: the dude is a professional athlete who weighs 283 POUNDS. He has fourteen chins. Every time he makes contact at the plate, Baseball Tonight should send a reporter straight to Citi Field. Colon’s ability to play—without a designated hitter no less!—is arguably as mind-blowing as what I saw as a youth.

Anyway, here is is jiggling his belly.

The Mets beat the Braves 4-0 last night, and that man threw seven shutout innings. Rub his belly for good luck, New York.
