So somebody went to their friends and said, “Hey, I have a great idea, we should BASE jump off the Princess Tower, the world’s highest residential structure, and the second tallest building in Dubai after the Burj Khalifa.” Then after some discussion, the rest of the group said, “You know what? That sounds like a fantastic idea. Let’s do it.” I can’t even convince my group of friends to get an after-work drink on a Monday, let alone to possibly leaping to their death.
SkydiveDubai, XDubai, DreamJump and Red Bull all partnered together to make this certifiably insane notion into a reality. A total of 558 BASE Jumps were made in a few days off the Princess Tower in the heart of the Dubai Marina.
Some adventurers did their BASE jump with parachutes, and others are plummeting to Earth on six miles of zipline called the “Dream Jump,” that has a lot of slack making you feel like you’re falling. Yeah, I’m good, I’ll just go on a zipline on my Punta Cana vaca thank you very much.
