Become A Better Liar By Making This One Simple Change In The Way You Lie

We all lie. Here’s the proof. But while it’s perfectly logical, and sometimes permissible, to lie in certain situations it’s often the easiest lies in which people get caught red handed.

In order to not get caught in those little white lies, it’s vital to change your tell. Just like in poker, we’ve all got a movement or tick that gives us away. If a person can learn to create a fake tell, it will make lying even easier.

Here’s how to do it:

Honesty was big in my house, and there was a lot of pressure to be 100% transparent, but I learned if I was caught in a lie right away, my parents wouldn’t get pissed, they’d just make fun of me for thinking I could get away with it. So I used to tell small white lies for no reason other than to get caught. Stupid inconsequential things, like saying I’d already taken the trash out. Then I’d stare for a second and crack a smile and they’d call me out and make fun of me. Over time, they learned how to “catch me in a lie” because I was so bad at it. So now if I want to get away with lying to them, all I have to do to get away with it is not smile.

Basically, the more lies you tell your “fake tell” and the more times you get caught, the easier it will be to get away with the real big deceptions. A couple good fake tells are smiling, like suggested, raising your eyelids up and down and making your eyes big like a cartoon character or following every lie with “I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD!”
