Pizza Hut Is Making A Beer-Infused Pizza Crust, Because Dreams Really Do Come True

There is no combination on planet Earth quite as delicious as hot pizza coupled with an icy cold beer. Doesn’t matter what kind of pizza or what kind of beer, that food combination is 1995–96 Jordan-Pippen of food combos. In an attempt to up the ante to gluttons like myself, Pizza Hut is testing out a pizza with a crust that’s infused with beer.

Gimmicky? Maybe. Something that you’ll *probably* never get a chance to chomp into?

¯_(ツ)_/¯.

It’s currently being tested at only one restaurant in the United Kingdom: The Finchley Lido Pizza Hut in London. According to The Mirror, the only Pizza Hut menu options for beer-dough pizza are Steak Feast Pizza and The American Hot pizza, which I guess is just… a regular pizza?

You have to go full 0007 to get the pizza, too, mentioning”I like it hop” to a server. That’s extra gimmicky,  but hey — plays up the real unique Britishness of the whole stunt.

Here’s how the marketing director at Pizza Hut explained the entire concept to The Mirror:

Kath Austin, Director of HR and Marketing at Pizza Hut Restaurants, said: “We know that craft beers are really popular right now and we’re celebrating this not just by adding craft beers to our menus, but also by adding this to our pizza dough .

“We also know that for many of our customers nothing beats enjoying their favourite pizza with an ice-cold beer, so we thought this would be the perfect culinary union.

“It took our team many hours to perfect the recipes and flavour combinations, but all of their hard work definitely paid off as we’re thrilled with the results and can’t wait for our customers to try them.

“We’re proud to be the first chain in the UK to trial a beer-infused dough base, and look forward to hopefully rolling these out nationwide if they prove popular.”

Please come to America… Please come to America…. Please come to America….

And if you could get here *just* in time for football season and be available for delivery, that’d answer a lot of my fatboy prayers.
