Bernie Sanders Supporters Boo Relentlessly When He Tells Them ‘We Must Elect Hillary Clinton’

Bernie Sanders has a loyal and impassioned fanbase. The senator from Vermont spoke to packed crowds all throughout the primaries. However, Hillary Clinton won the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination much to the chagrin to Bernie’s devotees. Sanders was a good sport after losing and endorsed Clinton despite having a very different set of values. Sanders continues to do his part to help the Democratic Party and in Philadelphia before the Democratic National Convention to get his enthusiasts to support Clinton. It did not go swimmingly.

Sanders addressed a group of his delegates at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Monday afternoon.

Sanders told the crowd, “We have got to elect Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine.” And it was immediately met with a chorus of boos and people giving thumbs down with the endorsement of the former rival.

The crowd began chanting, “We want Bernie! We want Bernie! We want Bernie!”

Sanders attempted to gain control of the room by saying, “Brothers and sisters, this is the real world that we live in.” Followed by many reasons why Trump was a “demagogue” who was “dangerous to the country” and “must be defeated.”

Bernie supporters are still feeling the sting from the Wikileaks hack that released nearly 20,000 emails from the Democratic National Committee, including ones that attempted to suppress the Sanders campaign.

Hillary smacked Sanders supporters right in the mouth with a tire iron when she hired former DNC chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the person in charge of the Democratic National Committee when all of these tactics to derail the Sanders campaign happened over the last year.

Hillary also enraged Sanders supporters when she selected Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as her vice president. Many in the Sanders camp feel that Kaine is not progressive enough and represents the opposite of what Bernie stands for.

Trump also gave Clinton a new nickname in addition to his original “Crooked Hillary” moniker. Introducing “Hillary Rotten Clinton.”
