Ready for a good laugh? I hope so, because a chart created by a a web site named “Financial Samurai” claims to show how a family of four living in Manhattan can barely make ends meet on $500K a year.
Now I read the “About” page on this web site, just to see if it was some kind of parody site, and I think it’s actually legit. Well, as legit as a site that claims a family making $500K a year is “scraping by” can be.
I must not be alone in thinking that this site was being serious because a whole bunch of people on Twitter picked up on the article and well, like me they pretty must choked when they saw it.

And even ignoring 401k, $7300 left over + 18k to charity is $25k a year = 50% of average household income.

The two cars for people who live in Manhattan seems the weirdest thing.
