Chinese Restaurant Shut Down After People Notice Owner Dragging in Roadkill
Officials in Whitley County shut down a Chinese restaurant Thursday after a dead deer was discovered inside.
The incident happened at the Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Williamsburg.
Officials say the son of the owner admitted to bringing the dead deer, which was apparently road kill, into the kitchen of the restaurant in order to clean and dress it.
When health officials found out, they immediately shut down the restaurant, and cited the son for having a white-tailed deer without a tag.
Oh, my God. That’s one of the more disturbing things I’ve heard in a long time. While I applaud the thriftiness of re-purposing road kill, it’s important to have boundaries. Not every patron is going to share your love of rotting-deer dumplings.
