Guy Says He Started A Church In Honor Of Harambe And The IRS Is Recognizing His Status As A Religious Organization

Rule #1 on the Internet: Don’t believe everything on the Internet. This is especially true on a place like Reddit, where the dramatic pursuit of upvotes for half-truths and troll jobs outweighs reality.

Redditor agc4 claims that he did something the world has needed since losing Our Sweet Prince Harambe (blessed be his name) on a day that shall live in infamy, May 28, 2016. Agc4 claims he started the “Church Of Latter Day Harambe” and filed for tax-exempt status as a religious organization with the IRS. He claims that the IRS “actually approved it”, though he’s yet to prove this by posting the acceptance letter that verifies his claim.

Though the envelop from the IRS looks legit, some on r/Harambe are calling him out:

How badly do you want this church to be real? There’s a chance Harambe worship (blessed be his name) becomes the next great world religion 500 years from now.

He died so our memes can live. Rest easy, Brother.
