This DIY bro wasn’t content just being a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ series, he really needed to express his love for the shire and take his fandom one step further. In a ‘DIY‘ (do it yourself) series of photos posted to Imgur, user ‘FreakinTheFridge’ cataloged his project of building a Hobbit House.
This subterranean Hobbit House almost perfectly mirrors the home owned by Bilbo Baggins in both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings (books and movies). Imgurian FreakinTheFridge put up 18 photos showing his work, from digging out the plot of land in what appears to be his back yard on through the finished product that is tall enough for both him and his girlfriend to stand upright in and not hit the ceilings (remember, hobbits are small creatures so very low ceilings wouldn’t have been shocking).
By no stretch of the imagination am I the world’s biggest fan of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work, I’ve read his books and seen the Hollywood movie adaptations, but that’s where it ends. With that said I have to admit that I’m pretty jelly of this dude’s new backyard hobbit house:

I’m guessing that this dude’s a landscape architect or something very similar. No regular human being can just set out to build something like that and end up with a finished product that awesome. Major props to Imgur user FreakinTheFridge for pulling off such an impressive DIY project!
