Politics are a tough gig, if you make the slightest of gaffes your opponent’s and the public will lambaste you, even if it is a mistake done on accident. Remember Howard Dean? The 2004 Democrat presidential candidate made a bizarre, high-pitched shrieking scream after the Iowa caucus, and the public decided that just because he laughed weird that he couldn’t possibly be President of the United States. Trump had an understandable, but tremendously embarrassing misspeak, confusing 7-11 with 9/11, and the internet had a field day.
A day before the huge New York primary, Trump was speaking at a rally at the First Niagara Center on Monday night during the rally. That’s when he confused the 7-Eleven convenience store known for its Slurpees and meat cylinders rotating on metal rollers for 12 hours for the 9/11 terror attacks that took the lives of nearly 3,000 people.
“I wrote this out, and it’s very close to my heart. Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down. And I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”
YIKES! He could have literally misspoke on any word in that paragraph with no issue, except 9/11.
The internet of course had jokes for the Republican front-runner.

Maybe we never saw trump at the 9/11 memorial because he thought it was 7-11 and was grabbing a slurpee
