Look At All These Dumb Mouth-Breathers Believing Incredibly Wrong Powerball Meme On Facebook Can End Poverty

You probably heard that nobody won Saturday’s Powerball drawing, thus the jackpot has swelled to over $1.4 billion.

There’s a lottery meme on Facebook going around claiming that if we just divided the current Powerball jackpot evenly, every American would get $4.3 million and it would end poverty.

One slight miscalculation with the math on that pic.

When you take $1.3 billion and divide by 300 million, your brain or your calculator on your phone should get $4.33. That would be four dollars and 33 cents, and not $4.33 million. Just a smidge of a difference. While it’s a grand gesture, the math fail on this pic is so erroneous that you couldn’t even buy everyone a $5 footlong from Subway, let alone solve poverty. Sorry fuck nuts.

The moronic post went insanely viral, garnering over 350,000 Likes, more than 27,000 comments and nearly 800,000 shares in only 12 hours! Now hopefully a great deal of those almost one million shares are trolls displaying how incredibly stupid people are, but still, if only half are true morons, that’s 400,000 believing the incredibly faulty mathematics.

God, please don’t let a mouth-breather who legitimately shared this photo win the Powerball, they’re just going to spend it on life-sized statues of the personalities from Duck Dynasty or invest all of their money in ShamWow.

In previous chapters of “There’s A Whole Lot Of People On Facebook That Are As Dumb As A Bag Of Rocks,” we saw users of the social media platform copy and pasting text as a status that truly believed would magically protect them from any privacy invasions of their important photos and data. Then there was the fake customer service on Facebook that people thought was assisting with their important consumer issues. And who could forget all the Facebook users that were posting thoughts and prayers for a dog with ham on his head.

Facebook, please don’t stop being dumb slack-jawed lackeys and providing fantastic entertainment.
