Florida Mom Saves Her Daughter From Being Kidnapped By Some Creep In A Convenience Store

I never believed in the concept of mom-strength until my friends started having babies. Sure, my mom always seemed to be a lot stronger when she was smacking me in the mouth than when someone needed to carry in the groceries, but I never really picked up on that until I got older. It wasn’t until I saw chicks that used to be unable to carry a 30 from the car to the porch suddenly be able to lift two healthy kindergartners by their waistbands did I realize the truth of the myth.

So I’m not fully surprised by this story of a Florida mom who beat off the creep that was trying to drag her teenage daughter out of the store with him. Sure, it’s man vs. woman, but really, it’s mom vs. potential danger to their child.

Via Daily Mail:

“Craig Bonello was seen shopping in the store when he suddenly grabbed the 13-year-old girl, who was shopping with her mother in Hernando just before noon on Tuesday. Bonello, who was stopped outside the store by an off duty sheriff’s deputy, will be charged with kidnapping and child abuse.

Bonello appeared to be pushing a shopping cart loaded with goods when he circled around an aisle and suddenly grabbed the teenager, whose name is being withheld. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office credited the girl’s heroic mother, who followed Bonello and desperately tried to snatch her daughter in a ‘tug of war’, NBC reported. According to WFAA, the mother eventually lay on top of the teen to prevent Bonello from dragging her out the store.

Bonello’s uncle suggested the man was suffering from mental illness, saying: ‘It’s just sad that this has happened, because this is not the kid that grew up with my kids. He needs to talk to some psychiatrists and find out what the issue is.'”

We see that, bros? Mom strength. Sure, Mom’s a little bigger than the kidnapper, but also, I bet you that Mom would be about 100% less strong if she was just Woman instead of Mom. She probably wouldn’t have even gotten involved if she wasn’t all Mom-ed up. “Well shit, that girl’s getting straight-up kidnapped. Someone should do something. Like that girl’s mom. Which I’m definitely not.” Then again, that little girl would never even have been in this situation if Mom had never given birth to her. So, really, it’s Mom’s responsibility to deal with this whole mess. Maybe that’s why she laid down on top of her daughter like a dog protecting it’s favorite bone. Because she owns her, and no one else can have her.
