If you happen to have a serious phobia of spiders then let’s just consider this video some form of aversion therapy, because watching this gargantuan trapdoor spider play tug of war with a man isn’t going to be easy for you to sit through. There are actually 120 types of trapdoor spiders, and some of them get truly fucking HUGE…I’m talking ‘haunt your nightmares forever if you come in contact with them’ huge. This guy stuck a stick inside a trapdoor spider’s burrow, and then they played tug of war:

Sure, there are trapdoor spiders on other continents, but Australia’s home to the most terrifying creatures known to man. It’s like the second you step outside in Australia there are no less than 10 million deadly creatures trying to end your life, from box jellyfish to octopus to sharks to crocodiles to snakes to spiders…it’s just not a safe place to be.
