High School Legend Writes Fake College Rejection Letter to Ask Girlfriend to Prom

A Pennsylvania high school girl, Caitlyn, recently received in the mail a letter from the University of South Carolina, informing her that she wouldn’t be attending the school in the fall. Her grades had started to suck, the letter basically said, and USC doesn’t accept slackers.

Only when Caitlyn got to the last paragraph—below the official USC watermark—did she realize it was a cleverly crafted prom proposal from her boyfriend, who carries a super-bright future as either a millionaire or grifter. “It saddens us to say that your admissions is in jeopardy, and we may have to pull our admissions from you due to your poor school ethic and attendance,” he wrote. “However if you were to just agree to go to prom with your boyfriend we could reconsider letting you continue to be a South Caroline Gamecock. So what do you say, will you go to prom with me?”

What a terrifically mean little prank. Love it.
