Guess How Much Money SnapChat is Now Reportedly Worth
Ten. Billion. Dollars.
No. I am not kidding.
Yes. Fuck everything.
According to” href=”http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-07-30/snapchat-said-in-funding-talks-with-alibaba-at-10-billion-value.html” target=”_blank”>Bloomberg News, SnapChat is in funding talks with Alibaba Holding Group at a valuation of $10 billion. Seeing as how SnapChat is just booming with revenue –exactly ZERO dollars worth of it — this just goes to prove YET AGAIN that users are the real currency of the Internet, not actual currency.
According to Bloomberg:
Snapchat Inc., the company that makes a mobile application for disappearing photo messages, is in talks with investors includingAlibaba Group Holding Ltd.for a round of financing that may value the company at $10 billion, people with knowledge of the situation said.
If the funding is completed, Snapchat would join a small group of technology startups that are valued in the eleven-digit range. Amid a Silicon Valley financing boom, companies including house-sharing app Airbnb Inc. and file-sharing company Dropbox Inc. have raised money at $10 billion valuations. In June, car-booking app Uber Technolgies Inc. raised $1.2 billion at a record-breaking valuation of $17 billion.
Literally, fuck everything. Take it out back and fuck it. Fuck it to death.
I’m not jealous or anything. Feel like I should mention that just in case anyone took my super casual tone out of context.
