JAPAN HAS ACCEPTED USA’S CHALLENGE TO A DEADLY ROBOT FIGHT AND THEY’RE GOING DOWN, USA!!! USA!!!

Last week I brought you this video from MegaBots, Inc., and in it they challenged Japan to a deadly robot duel by showcasing their latest deadly fighting robot (video + GIFs below). Today Japanese robotics engineers responded with a video of their own, saying they were taken aback by the challenge and didn’t expect it. They then took some cheap shots at our DEADLY ‘MURICAN ROBOT before ultimately accepting the challenge from MegaBots, Inc. This means in the coming months (years?) we will see a trans-Pacific deadly robot battle between the USA and Japan.

Something of note here is that Japan issued their acceptance of the challenge just a few hours after the US Women’s National Soccer Team completely embarrassed the Japanese Women’s National Team in the Women’s World Cup Final, so perhaps that embarrassment on the global scale stoked the flames and forced Japan to respond.

For those of you missed the USA’s epic challenge of Japan last week you can find my write up on it here. In that post I discussed how it may seem ambitious of MegaBots, Inc. to go after Japan with their first global challenge to a deadly robot duel. How some people might think it makes more sense to start by fighting a country with less advanced and deadly robots than Japan. But I went on to discuss how in order to BE THE CHAMP you gotta BEAT THE CHAMP. So it’s warming my red, white, and blue American heart to know that soon we’ll meet Japan on the robot battlefield and completely wipe the floor with them.

Japan’s stipulation in this deadly robot fight it they want to ‘melee combat’, which is a throwback to hand-to-hand combat amongst knights involving weapons such as swords, axes, spears, knives, maces…basically anything with spikes that you can swing or stab someone with. So this should be a very interesting fight. Why does Japan want a hand-to-hand fight between two deadly robots? Well, just take a look at the dexterity of their robot and it’s obvious to see where they think they hold the upper hand:

The details of the impending Trans-Pacific Deadly Robot Duel are unclear as of yet (no date, time, location, etc), but I will keep you abreast of any updates in the coming days. As for the USA’s response to Japan accepting their challenge, I imagine many of you are feeling exactly as I am right now…Which is a little like this:
