Justin Bieber Posted An Instagram Photo With A Known Sex Offender And People Are Freaking Out

This is one of those times where I sit here, staring at my laptop and reading about all the stupid bullshit going on in the world and question why Justin Bieber’s recent Instagram photo is getting more attention than, say, how incredibly fucked up the Rio Olympics will be. Is this really what people want to read about? A stupid picture posted online by an immature pop star? Apparently the answer is “Yes,” although I’m not happy about it – and neither should you be.

Yet here we are anyway, discussing how Jeffrey Jones, notable for his role as Principal Rooney in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and his child pornography conviction, made an appearance on the JBeeb’s Instagram. It is not an interesting photo, nor is it scandalous or intriguing in any way – it’s just two dudes trying to fake like they’re taking a candid picture:

Jones was arrested in 2003 for possession of child pornography and was also accused of soliciting a minor boy to pose for pornographic photos, to which he plead the felony charge as no contest. His name is now on the sex offenders registry and he was sentenced to five years probation, however after moving to Florida and neglecting to update his offender status, he was required to do 250 hours of community service as well as serve another three years on probation.

People were quick to jump on Bieber for posting the photo, although in my mind, who cares? If Justin Bieber wants to hang out with sex offenders, let him. At this point the only way the 8-15 y/o demographic would abandon him is if he was found to have been chopping up horses and eating them raw in his basement, and even then he’d still keep at least half of his fandom if he made a half-assed apology track about it:
