The other day Facebook czar Mark Zuckerberg shared a photo celebrating Instagram now having more than 500 million users.
The photo seems innocent enough, right? Nothing really all that interesting at first blush.
Until you look a little closer at his laptop, which is exactly what a guy named Chris Olson, who works at tech company called Replicated, did.
3 things about this photo of Zuck:
Camera covered with tape
Mic jack covered with tape
Email client is Thunderbird pic.twitter.com/vdQlF7RjQt— Chris Olson (@topherolson) June 21, 2016
Apparently, despite having one of the worst passwords ever, Zuckerberg is concerned about people being able to spy on him via his laptop’s webcam and microphone.

So if one of the guys who knows way more about hacking and internet security than pretty much any of us puts tape over his camera as well as his microphone there’s got to be a pretty good reason for that, don’t you think?
Hell, as Mashable pointed out, earlier this year FBI Director James Comey said that he also puts tape over his webcam.
Big Brother is real, folks. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Now go put on your tinfoil hat before they start reading your thoughts too.
