Meth Drones Are Your New Favorite Flying Drones

Typically drones carry a terrible connotation. When you are hearing about them, you are either hearing about the ethically abhorrent and legally unjustifiable assassination program of the Obama administration, the overreach of the police surveillance state or the very real possibility that drones will become sentient and are actually the first iteration of Hunter Killers from the Terminator world.

But I’m here to let you know that the drones are fighting back. Not as artificially intelligent beings attempting to eradicate humanity, but as drug delivery vehicles for the people. Drones are now bringing drugs to the people!

And occasionally crashing carrying six pounds of meth. From NBC:

A drone carrying methamphetamine crashed in Mexico near the San Ysidro Port of Entry on Tuesday night.

The unmanned aircraft hauling more than 6 pounds of crystal meth in six packages fell from the sky into the parking lot of a supermarket in Tijuana just before 10 p.m., according to Vicente Calderon, a Tijuana-based freelance journalist for NBC 7.

The packages of drugs were attached to the drone using plastic webbing and strips of black tape, police said.

Drug drones! Just think of the possibilities. Much like Amazon wants to deliver packages to your doorstep by drone, as well as beer companies, perhaps one day drones too will bring us our drugs.

Maybe the future isn’t as bleak as we are making it out to be.

Nope, just kidding. Drones are totally going to kill us all.
