PlayStation 4 And Xbox One Gamers Can Finally Throw Down Online Together

Microsoft released a game-changing (literally) statement on the company’s blog this morning that it’s opening up the company’s Xbox Live online platform so that you can play games online through an Xbox One or Xbox 360 across every platform. The statement reads:

First, in addition to natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, we’re enabling developers to support cross-network play as well. This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks – including other console and PC networks.

This is a massive move on Microsoft’s part, and means the widely played, online multiplayer games can be played between players using PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Alright ultimately, taking step back and considering the universal implications for this, you could see how much damn money we might save on having to purchase the pricier consoles to game up with the fellow bros.
