Playboy Model Dani Mathers Charged For Body-Shaming Snapchat Pic Of Naked Woman In Locker Room

Back in July Playboy model Dani Mathers shared a photo of a naked woman in a locker room. She made insulting comments about the woman’s body.

After facing widespread backlash over the insensitive pic, the Playboy 2015 Playmate of the Year apologized and later deleted her social media accounts. Now she has been criminally charged for his distasteful photo. The Los Angeles prosecutors have charged Mathers with invasion of privacy for taking a photo of a naked woman in a LA Fitness gym locker room without her consent or knowledge.

“Body-shaming is humiliating, with often painful, long-term consequences,” City Attorney Mike Feuer said in a statement. “It mocks and stigmatizes its victims, tearing down self-respect and perpetuating the harmful idea that our unique physical appearances should be compared to air-brushed notions of ‘perfect.’ ”

Mathers’s attorney Tom Mesereau said, “I am very disappointed that Dani Mathers was charged with any violation. She never tried to invade anyone’s privacy and never tried to break any law.”

The 29-year-old model is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 28 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

If convicted, she faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
