“The Most Interesting Man in the World” is ditching beer for tequila. Actor Jonathan Goldsmith, who became world famous as the debonaire pitchman for Dos Equis beer, is now a spokesman for Astral Tequila. The suave 78-year-old appears in a new commercial for Astral Tequila
In a new ad, Goldsmith references his old days as spokesperson for Dos Equis by saying, “I told you I don’t always drink beer.” Last year, Dos Equis announced they were ending their relationship with Goldsmith after their long-running ad campaign that lasted nearly a decade. They continued “The Most Interesting Man in the World” campaign with a more youthful actor who is over 30 years younger in an attempt to cater to millennial drinkers. Goldsmith is not only a pitchman for Astral Tequila, but also an equity partner in Astral Tequila. Stay thirsty old dude.
