Finally! In Apple’s iOS 10 You’ll Be Able To Do The ONE THING That Everyone Wants On The iPhone

This photo below has been shared hundreds of thousands of times across Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, YikYak, Reddit, Imgur, and every other place on the Internet where people vent about the b.s. hurdles that Apple makes every iPhone user jump through:

Well, things are about to change. Historically Apple wouldn’t allow users to delete their pre-loaded/built-in apps (Stocks, Weather, iBooks, Calculator, etc). At some point this has pissed of just about everyone who has owned an iPhone because every time the iPhone software is updated it requires a bunch of free space on the phone, space that usually must be freed up by deleting vacation photos, graduation photos, and those pictures of your older brother’s new baby….This is no longer.

Starting with iOS 10, Apple will be giving iPhone and iPad owners more control over the software that’s installed on iOS devices. For the first time ever, you’ll be able to delete the company’s built-in apps (Maps, Calculator, Music, Videos, etc.) and download them again later. All of the major iOS apps are now visible within the App Store, and they’ve each got fleshed out descriptions and screenshots.
Yet strangely, nothing about this was mentioned on stage during the WWDC keynote. Neither Tim Cook nor software boss Craig Federighi discussed any “unbundling” of apps from iOS 10. It didn’t even appear on the cool, nerdy list of new features during the keynote.
But it’s certainly happening.

This has already been confirmed by developers who have downloaded the latest developer beta. It’s also been confirmed that the apps deeply ingrained within Apple’s iOS system cannot be deleted, like Messages and Camera, but the extraneous apps that do nothing other than take up space are GONE if you want them to be, and that’s a big win for iPhone users.
