Shout Out To New Hampshire, Which Defeated A Bill That Would Have Made Female Public Nudity Illegal

You may not know this, but we here at BroBible are progressive as fuck. Especially when it comes to women’s rights. When it comes to women’s rights, we support it all.

We’d be hypocritical if we didn’t. Being a Bro is all about being kinda chill and doing whatever you want, and who would we be if we said that while we have it pretty great, others can’t as well, just because of their gender. Fuck that. I want everyone to have a great, chill, easy life.

One of the great joys of Bro life is taking your shirt off. Letting the pecs breathe in the summer months. I’m blogging shirtless right now. But if a woman does it, it becomes a scandal (And remember, we once thought women showing their ankles off were whores, so, like, always remember that whatever your current standard of decency and morality is, it is probably retrograde).

Thankfully, people are fighting the fight to let women goes as shirtless as the please. We are all familiar with the #FreeTheNipple campaign online. Now, the movement is making its way to state legislatures

The New Hampshire House rejected a bill that would have made it illegal for women to expose their breasts in public, per CBS:

The House voted against making it a misdemeanor for women to show their breasts with “reckless disregard” for whether it would offend someone. The bill was partly a response to a “Free the Nipple” movement that led to two women being cited for going topless at a Gilford beach. A judge dismissed that case in February.

The bill was the brainchild of, you guessed it, old white men. Who would be offended by some tits.

The bill caused the spat among lawmakers in December after a male lawmaker said if women want to show their breasts publicly, they should be OK with men wanting to “grab” them.

Yea, no, that’s not how things work.

Bill supporters had cautioned that allowing women to go topless at beaches could lead to them also going topless at libraries and Little League games. They said they were trying to shield families and children.

Yea, no, that’s also not how things work.

Thankfully, for once, common sense prevailed. In a report recommending the bill be rejected, the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety said, “In a state with an average temperature of only 46 degrees, the risk of rampant nudity seems rather low.”

Also, it’s right not to ban people from doing things that aren’t a big deal just because they’re ladies.
