Guy Shares Scary Story About How Popping A Pimple Landed Him In The ER And I’m Never Touching Mine Again

As a kid, my parents always told me not to pop my pimples because they’d leave a scar. I’d always think “a scar is better than this bulbous third eyeball” right before I busted that bitch. A scar never sounded like it was such a big deal or a good scare tactic.

Now, if mom or dad said “don’t pop pimples because you might go blind”, well, that might have kept me from popping them all.

This poor bastard had a pimple on his face and popping it led to way too many scary complications.

So I had a pimple in my eyebrow that was annoying me and I decided to squeeze it. This seemed to work at the time, but the next day it had grown back twice as big.

I went to the doctor and he told me it was probably a sebaceous cyst and gave me some oral antibiotics.

12 hours later it had probably tripled in size and I has having difficulty opening my eye, so I went back to the doctor and he said I could go to the hospital “if I wanted”.

I got to the hospital and they immediately freaked, started pumping me full of IV antibiotics and gave me a head CT.

Turns out by squeezing the pimple I forced the infection deeper and ended up with periorbital cellulitis. If I had left it much longer it could have spread to the orbit and blinded me.

The guy immediately went into surgery and updated his post with this photo.

I’ve just had surgery under general anesthesia to clean it out, and that’s why I have that funny looking tube sticking out of my head.

Looks like I’ve got at least another two days in hospital so I can get more IV antibiotics.

Hmmm so maybe pimples do really leave scars.
